Strength In Numbers: Quarterly Insights from CLC and OSP

Article

Children’s Legacy Center (CLC) and One SAFE Place (OSP) are excited to announce a new quarterly impact blog, sharing vital data that highlights our commitment to serving the North State community.

Previously, we have shared data with our Board of Directors, staff, donors, and granting agencies, enabling us to uphold transparency and accountability to our team, stakeholders, and funders. Now, we are excited to extend this transparency to our broader community, inviting greater involvement and understanding of our mission and impact.

The CLC provides trauma-informed services to children impacted by abuse, including forensic interviews and medical exams, advocacy, and tailored behavioral health treatment. Our Foster Family Agency supports foster families, while our Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) assists youth affected by exploitation. Similarly, OSP offers holistic services for those impacted by intimate partner violence, including emergency shelter, crisis intervention, a 24/7 hotline, transitional housing, advocacy, and legal support. Together, CLC and OSP address domestic violence and other significant traumas, offering resources for healing and empowerment in our community.

The following impact data reflects client services in Butte, Shasta, Siskiyou, and Trinity Counties between October-December 2023:

OSP:

● CRISIS INTAKE WALK-INS: 1,299 individuals

● STAFF-ASSISTED TEMPORARY RESTRAINING ORDERS: 99 filed

● TRANSITIONAL HOUSING: 62 clients

● TOTAL CHILDREN/YOUTH IN SHELTER: 75 (14 on Christmas Day)

CLC:

● FORENSIC: 71 interviews and 5 medical exams

● BEHAVIORAL HEALTH: 643 therapy sessions for 219 clients

● FOSTER FAMILY AGENCY: 9 foster child placements with families and within CLC’s 7 resource families

“At the heart of our work, the CLC and OSP are guardians of the stories of the children and adults impacted by violence in our community,” said Kimberly Johnson, CEO of CLC and OSP.

“Behind each data point lies the individual stories of cherished members of this community. They are your neighbors and colleagues; they sit beside your child at school. It is our privilege to serve them. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude and immense pride to our staff for their compassionate, wise, and inspiring service to each individual we have the privilege to support. Thank you for standing with us and contributing to the well-being of our community.”
