Unity in Action – The Essential Role of Our Multidisciplinary Team

Article

At the heart of Children’s Legacy Center's mission is the tireless and dedicated work of our Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) partners. These frontline professionals—law enforcement officers, medical providers, victim advocates, social workers, prosecutors, and behavioral health specialists—engage with the raw realities of trauma every day. Our MDT is a diverse and highly skilled group of professionals who come together with a singular focus: safety, well-being, and justice for those they serve. They confront the challenges of their roles not merely with skill but with an unwavering commitment to our community. The collective expertise and dedication of these professionals creates a support system where survivors are truly valued, understood, and provided with the necessary resources and support to navigate their next steps.

Our work is focused on walking alongside individuals and families, providing both expertise and genuine care through and beyond some of the most difficult times in their lives.

This collaboration lays the foundation for enduring change and our collective impact reminds us that true transformation is created from purposeful, humble service and a steadfast commitment to our community.

Recently, our community has faced its share of tensions. Divisions—political or otherwise—have at times cast shadows over the work we do.

However, the essence of our mission is found not in public debate but in the quiet, steadfast efforts of those who work on the frontlines.

The real story is in the daily, often uncelebrated actions of those who show up consistently - the law enforcement officers who handle sensitive investigations with care, the medical staff who care for individuals in their most vulnerable moments, and the advocates who provide a steady hand to guide families forward - these are our partners who help carry this mission. They are the quiet force behind the progress we make.

Our greatest value and aim are to serve members of our community with integrity, intentionality, and excellence; regardless of accolades, criticism, or challenges. This team provides care for individuals who have endured abuse and violence, offering hope to families and caregivers who are seeking answers, and supporting a community that desires justice and healing.

Together, we are not only addressing immediate needs but also building a robust continuum of care that stands firmly against cycles of abuse, exploitation, and violence. How does our MDT tackle such systemic challenges? Strong communication, collaboration, and respect.

Each case we handle and every person we support highlights that healing is a shared responsibility. Our MDT partners demonstrate this principle every day, showing up with dedication and resolve. Their commitment reflects the true essence of what it means to work together in service of our community. In times when it is tempting to focus on our differences, we choose to emphasize our shared purpose.

This is a story of unity—a narrative about how we come together to support one another, particularly in the most challenging of circumstances. It is the collective strength and resilience of a community working together.

To our MDT and to all our community’s helpers—whether on the frontlines or behind the scenes - we extend our deepest gratitude. Together, we are not merely providing services; we are forging a legacy of care and support that will continue to benefit this community for years to come. Your unwavering dedication makes a lasting impact, and for that, we are profoundly grateful.

What is Arch Collaborative?

Children’s Legacy Center and One SAFE Place remain separate legal entities, but both now operate under the unified “doing business as” name of Arch Collaborative, allowing for coordinated resources and operations while maintaining their individual legal status. Collaboration between OSP and CLC enhances our impact, creating a seamless network that responds effectively to trauma, violence, and exploitation in our community.

In October, Children’s Legacy Center and One SAFE Place filed "doing business as" (DBA) statements to operate as Arch Collaborative, while also retaining each organization’s EIN to meet funding requirements. This approach ensures stable, uninterrupted services, while maintaining compliance and flexibility, streamlining operations, and securing continued support.

Arch Collaborative represents more than a rebranded name —it speaks to our determination to partner well to ensure a holistic continuum of care to reach more individuals and respond to emerging needs with greater agility. We’re grateful for the support of our community and excited to continue building a safer, more supportive future.

Community support and understanding are vital to the missions of One SAFE Place and Children’s Legacy Center. The services we provide are more than just resources and temporary refuge; they are a lifeline for individuals and families rebuilding their lives after the devastation of child abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, and human trafficking. By helping to educate individuals about the trauma those we serve endure and the complex journey they face towards healing and stability, we foster a more compassionate community that stands together against abuse.

Your involvement, whether through volunteering, donations, or simply spreading awareness, directly impacts the lives of those seeking safety and a fresh start. Together, we can be the supportive network that transforms hope into reality, ensuring that every person who walks through our doors knows they are not alone and that brighter days are ahead.
